May 4, 2021Investors sell off Treasurys for the third consecutive day, sending the 10-year yield to 1.578%, up from Monday’s 1.568%. The lower demand for the bonds’ safety comes as investors hope for more clarity on monetary policy when the Fed ends its two-day meeting on Wednesday, amid bullish US economic data and bearish pandemic resilience around the world. Spartan’s Peter Cardillo expects yields to keep their rising trend. “Although, the indices are near record levels investors are not likely to reverse positive market sentiment as the macro and earning’s news continues to incite enthusiasm,” he says.
