On May 19th, Spartan Capital Securities participated in the Wall Street Run & Heart Walk for the sixth consecutive year.
The Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is a competitive run and a non-competitive walk. More than 11,000 people from throughout the five boroughs were in attendance this year. In addition to the 3-mile course, participants enjoyed free health screenings, nutrition and fitness demonstrations, information and product sampling. Proceeds from the Wall Street Run & Heart Walk benefitted the American Heart Association, an organization dedicated to building healthier lives that are free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 4 causes of death in the U.S., killing nearly one million people each year. In New York City alone, cardiovascular disease claims nearly 23,000 lives annually. The American Heart Association makes an extraordinary impact through a wide range of activities, saving lives every day by providing information and education.
Spartan was proud to have more than 60% of its employees participate by walking or running in order to promote the importance of fitness and heart health. The event raised $3,000,000 for this important cause.
